John Agostinelli founded Agostinelli Realty Group in 1997 and has been focusing on creating value for his clients for over 25 years. Prior to leading his own real estate company, John worked in the banking industry for 8 years, 6 of them at the FDIC. He examined the causes of bank failure after the real estate crash of the late 80’s - early 90’s, facilitated the work out process of real estate developments that had failed after the bubble burst, and managed foreclosures in several New England states. He has been in the industry through good times and bad and has successfully represented clients in all market conditions. Over the last decade, he became an industry leader in the sale of hundreds of properties in over 50 Massachusetts towns. During that time, he was also selected to serve as a senior advisor to the largest mortgage servicing company in the country, (only the top 12 real estate professionals of over 6,000 were selected).
John is also a licensed construction supervisor, has built homes on speculation and has rehabilitated neglected properties which has removed blight and regression that allows neighborhoods to recover from the Great Recession.
John has just published and co-authored Easy Money and the American Real Estate Ponzi Scheme. He spent countless hours researching housing policy, laws, economic and mortgage data, books, and white papers. He obtained academic perspectives from all sides and either met, interviewed, or used research from the DC Think Tanks including: the Urban Institute, the CATO Institute, the American Enterprise Institute and the Bi-Partisan Policy Center. In addition, he met with a member of the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission and interviewed the CEO of Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), the chief economist of REALTOR.com, the SVP of RealtyTrac (now ATTOM Data Solutions), and several former presidential candidates, among other key market influencers. The reach of government encompasses all facets of housing and is more influential and manipulative than the average homeowner could ever imagine. If you are buying, selling or investing in
